December 2022 Updates

Approved at the Board Meeting 12/05/2022: 

  • Increased quarterly fees EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2023 (Q1)
    • Operations and Maintenance Fees (Operations Fee) $240 a quarter
    • Trash Fee $41.70 a quarter
    • Courtyard Fee $85 a quarter (when applicable)
    • Alley Fee $45 a quarter (when applicable)
    • Maintenance Fee $60 a quarter (when applicable)
    • The updated resolution is located on the District website at www.brightoncrossings-connect.com under community documents and governing documents.
    • The Operations and Maintenance expenditures total 2.3 million for the district.  There were more than $100K in cost reductions adopted (including reductions in tree replacements and holiday lighting) but an increase in fees was still necessary to meet the 2023 Budget.
    • Developer contributions make up roughly 20% of your annual revenues to fund the District, it does not add to the District’s debt, and there is no expectation of repayment. Since 2019 Brookfield Development has contributed over $341,000 to the Brighton Crossing Community. An additional $198,000 in contributions are budgeted for in 2023.
    • The following items were added to the Budget for 2023
      • Increased staffing at the Venture Center to all for additional peak season access.
      • Pool slide replacement.
      • Increased mulch budget for flower beds.
    • The following areas of the budget were increased to meet the needs of the community
      • Full year of Volley Park maintenance (only 5 months of maintenance in 2022)
      • New playground inspections
      • Winter watering for new trees
      • Cleanup for tumbleweeds and blowing trash
      • Snow removal in new sections of District
      • Budget for fence cleaning and repair due to winds and vandalism.
    • Other budget factors
      • Recognized inflation to include wage increases (5-10%), irrigation materials (30-100%), construction supplies (50%), raw goods (20%), fuel surcharges.
      • Administrative costs generally remaining flat
  • 2023 Annual Administrative Resolution
  • Resolution calling for regular election of Directors
    • District 4 will hold a regular election of Directors of May 2, 2023.
    • District 5-8 will hold a regular election of Directors May 2, 2023.

  • Increase in Vandalism in Brighton Crossings
    • The District has seen a significant increase in vandalism in 2022.  Please report all vandalism on District website brightoncrossings-connect.com.  Click on the “Report Damage or Vandalism” in the green bar at the top of the home page.
